I just came back from my first trip in 22 years to connect with the “Sistema”.
My colleague Victor Rojas, a former student & CEO of the “Simon Bolivar” Symphony Orchestras and Vice-President of the IUDEM [the ‘Sistema’s music university] invited me to Caracas & Pto. La Cruz, for a week of meetings with him, Dr. Abreu, maestro Gustavo Dudamel, & lecturing. I agreed to go back periodically to both teach at the IUDEM & perform as well as a soloist with the orchestra… |

Another unexpected blessing was meeting the eminent Mr. Charles Brewer Carias, an author, explorer, & overall renaissance man and multi-disciplinary genius with an extraordinary career…
My ‘in-law’ José Miguel Perez introduced me to this most outstanding personality, one of my heroes from my teens… he has spent more than 40 years of incredible expeditions through the Venezuelan jungles, & speaks seven languages [including three from indigenous Venezuelan nations]. He shared with me invaluable knowledge for a confidential upcoming project… I am so looking forward working, studying with & learning from him in the very near future.

Christmas Mini-Concert Tour in Europe with Googoosh and Mehrdad: We just did three concerts in Oberhausen - Germany, Stockholm – Sweden, & London – UK, for beautifully enthusiastic audiences… It was five years since I performed here with Googoosh… IT WAS AMAZING! |

Inauguration event of the new building of the Tabernáculo Bíblico Bautista in El Salvador: Early in Dec. we spent a glorious week ministering in San Salvador, Central America, at the opening events for the new expanded 9000+ seating-people temple… They estimate we reached 87.000 people! Pedro played every night & Sara --who also sang ‘Aguinaldos’, traditional Venezuelan Christmas Carols-- ministered alongside musicionaries Gustavo Lima, Papo Rivera, among many others, and a host of brilliant pastor preachers. We even had the extraordinary privilege of meeting & ministering to the President of El Salvador, Mr. Elías Antonio Saca González …
God blessed us significantly and we cannot describe the especial connection we experience with this extraordinary congregation for the second time this year… Thanks to Pastor-founder Dr. Edgar Beltran Sr., Dr. Edgar Beltran Jr., as well as precious sister Maria Teresa, Pastor Jorge Aguirre, & pastor Marlon ‘El Tigre’… Extraordinary people, astonishing vision, these people are an example to the whole world! WE LOVE YOU ALL!! |

A 22+ years re-encounter on the making! In November ’08 Pedro had the blessing of a meeting of huge significance:
"Concerning Venezuela, this is like coming 'full circle', musically speaking: re-connecting with Dr. Abreu, & meeting these young and extraordinarily powerful classical musicians affected me deeply...

Djivan Gasparian's 80th Birthday Concert Celebration In a bashing event with the participation
of a virtually "Who-is-Who" list of singers, musicians & personalities,
Pedro had the privilege of performing a solo [on Duduk & Flute] in his
his duduk teacher's 80th birthday celebration event, held at the Pasadena
Civic Auditorium on Sep. 27th 2007. I improvised a solo short piece on Duduk, followed by another improvised flute solo piece that 'came' to me that very afternoon, with the grooving accompaniment of the spectacular Armenian house band... I publicly want to give the credit to God, Who allowed & equipped me to do this successfully. All honor & glory be to Jesus, my inspiration, Lord & Savior!!"

On Sep. 24th-07 I met with Dr. Gary Lewis in San Francisco, a flautist & saxophonist --and historic-flutes specialist-- by suggestion of master flute repairman --& friend-- Paul Rabinov. Gary spent hours measuring, then calculating/plotting a cylindrical equivalent of the inside bore taper of my aforementioned hand-made Persian Ney Headjoint®. I cannot thank them both enough for the absolutely fantastic work!! |

BlizzCon '07 Blizzard Entertainment's super convention was held at the Anaheim Convention Center, culminating with a symphonic-rock-world concert on Aug 4th 07. Pedro performed duduk on a duet with a friend & former Cal-Arts alumnae, singer & composer, Derek Duke. The following is an excerpt from Jayson Napolitano's review of the concert: "A suite of World of Warcraft background music followed... The highlight of this piece was Pedro Eustache’s performance on the duduk, an ethnic wind instrument. Eustache gave life to the music on stage, moving with the melody, and creating the most beautiful woodwind sounds I have ever heard live; the duduk sounded almost like it was alive and talking to us. He received a round of applause during his performance, despite the piece not being over!" |

In Israel for the first time [Part II]... The Jack Hayford School Of Pastoral Nurture, Israel 2007 Like I said before... how can I put the indescribable in words?... Spending a whole week under the leadership of Pastor Jack & Ana Hayford --pastors' pastors-- was ONE OF THE HIGLIGHTS OF OUR LIVES!! We literally saw the supernatural in front of us everyday, as pastor Jack lead for hours, with an energy that was nothing short of miraculous... under extreme heat, humidity, & grueling schedule --almost military-like conditions-- Pastor Jack taught the group of 90 ministers with full enthusiasm, clarity of mind, purpose of spirit & incredible insight, as we traveled through the four cardinal points of the land of Israel... As a musicionary, God have blessed me with incredible experiences... I have played in some of the most incredible places imaginable: from India's splendorous Taj Mahal, to the astonishing "Emperor's Palace" in the Forbidden City, Beijing-China, to the 2000 years old Roman amphitheater in Carthage, Tunisia... Yet NOTHING COMPARES TO PLAYING "CHRIST AROSE" in front of the empty tomb of Jesus, & "MASTER THE TEMPEST IS RAGING" in a boat, in the middle of the sea of Galilee!! [see pics below]... We grew-up singing these classical Christian hymns, & to play them in these settings is beyond anything I could ever explain... All we can say is... go visit the holy Land!! IT WILL BLESS & TRANSFORM YOUR LIVES LIKE IT DID WITH US!!!! |

In Israel for the first time [Part I]... The 2007 Foursquare Church International Convention - Jerusalem Sara --my wife-- & I had the privilege of visiting the Holy Land for the first time this July, for two events: The Foursquare International Convention [gathering 3000 from all over the world] & the SPN with Pastor Jack Hayford. Below are pics from the first event... How can I describe this? I worshiped under the annointed leadership of both Robert Stearns & Tomy Walker --in the morning & evening services, respectively-- with band members John Peña, Linda McCrary Fisher & Bob Wilson, among others. This was an exercise in the purpose of my life... Ministering with a solo piece ["Oh, Come Emmanuel"] the night Pastor Jack spoke was such an undeserved blessing... |

Pedro is a guest soloist for The Music Festival of Carthage, Tunisia 2007 With his friend, oud soloist maestro Riadh el Fehri & the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra, Pedro participated as a guest soloist for the 2nd consecutive year... Eight different newspapers --in Arabic, French & English-- gave raving reviews to this unforgettable event... Also, Pedro had Arabic music theory lessons with maestro Riadh, Arabic Nay lessons [trad. oblique flute] --again-- from his virtuoso teacher, maestro Dr. Nabil Abdelmouleh , AND 'Mezoued' [trad. 2ble. chanter bagpipe] with maestro Moustapha Ben Randum... |

This Christian Hymns CD Vol.1 --more than 25 years overdue-- reflects my life-long musical ‘calling’. These are instrumental versions of hymns from the Evangelical Christian tradition. Starting from my roots, this project journeys all the way to my artistic endeavor now, utilizing contrasting realms, new digital technologies and musical influences-instruments from different parts of the world. The variety in this project illustrates how valid these hymns are today —truth is not time-bound—as well as the universal relevance of the message contained therein. May this Truth bless you the same way He have bless me through all these years… more |

Lyricon
meeting w/Bill Bernardi [Jan 2007]
I had the amazing blessing of spending a whole afternoon with Bill Bernardi, the genius inventor of this most expressive vintage analogue electronic wind instrument, in the Boston area... simply extraordinary! ...You will here more from me playing this unexplainably neglected super expressively-organic horn.. |
